Istri.no.Suami.no.Sanmei.NO. Xiaomei.ahh.

Oct. 25th, 2006 | 12:25 pm

it's the conventional Quarter Meeting for the synapses yesterday - tho this year we seemed to have met in full force only ONCE? ??!!

anyway, was to celebrate Suami's birthday. no, should be xiaomei in this circumstance with the Synapses. making me confused! glad she liked the specially hand-picked make-up accessories for her! Pls put it to good use! ;)

mummy n daddy returned sunday night. as expected, there were quite some gossips to share about THEM. ha. best part is THEY got the wrong luggage at the airport. makes me wanna smile when i think of it, until the part where THEY actually had the cheek to call and asked us to drive them back to the airport for the exchange. HELLO. 1st It’s 1am in the morning. 2nd you have your dear son living with you under the same roof. 3rd there exists a thing on earth called TAXI. WAH KAO. Makes me want to put down my first, second, fourth and fifth digits of my hand.

been a tad boring in office recently. spent a lot more time on my chair as its the time of the year for budget planning and numbers projection for 2007. it's always a tough job to balance the beam between the management's expectations and actual reality. budget meeting later - god bless me!

location: Eating snake at The Office Restaurant
mood: cheerful cheerful

The Gang had a celebration for 4 birthday gals/boys on saturday night. 1 birthday boy din turn up tho - was busy saving fire!! woah!!

the Korean restaurant at Mosque Street was good. tho a tiny weeny expensive - prob coz i ordered the same chicken bulgogi at a food court for only 1/3 the price. nonetheless, food court does not offer any other sides than the traditional kimchi and ikan bilis. then again, the additional tau kua, radish and more kimchi does rank a bit on the high of the price tag. bleah. ok to be fair, the price is reasonable for a restaurant environment. yeap.

glad tho, that the presents suit the peeps. (i hope) esp Mr Hamsem who says he was really thinking of going G2K for clothes. some recognition for my totful efforts yay!! :p

went on to have dessert at the Wei Siang Yuan. the black sesame was superb, but my usual pai kuan only tahaned me about 4-5 mouthfuls. yeye finished the rest for me. thank god guys exist on earth.

it was left with me, mel, irene, suami, jack and nigel who came to join us at Settlers' at Katong. ya. Katong. we went from Chinatown to katong. i drove. we hollanded. not a surprise.

tremendous fun at settlers'. man i honestly think we shld meet in these kind of games places more often. really a lot of laughters! nigel was F-U-N-N-Y FUNNY. ha. i suspect his good mood may be due to the new-found knowledge of my impending absence from his wedding day. hmm. Suami, it's time. take over the rara in the morning!!

Lake Toba

Oct. 19th, 2006 | 04:04 pm
mood: blah blah

This trip to Medan actually felt more like a R&R one than a work trip. We had half a day going up to Lake Toba. Along the way, we stopped for some specialty noodles in Siantar, and then fried pigeon. First time trying to eat a bird other than chicken and duck but it still tasted like chicken. i stomached 1 full bird. the various food stops resulted in a 5 hour journey, instead of the normal 3.

the view was not visible when we arrived at 7 but the air was overwhelmingly fresh. esp so given the haze conditions in singapore now.

had a lot of fun that night with the firecrackers. yes those that you cant find and will not see in Singapore, unless we aint under the Men In White anymore. Perhaps. the 'signal flare' cracker was my favourite. it was amazing seeing the fireworks shooting out from the other end of the stick. my second favourite had to be the 'rocket' which exploded into fireworks when it flew into the sky. beautiful. picture would have been perfect if it was ling beside me then..

anyway we left early the next morning at 8.30 to head back Siantar and Medan for the high school presentations. the view was so breathtaking it took all the attention away from the otherwise see-may-faint treacherous mountain windings. the makeshit toilet with exits direct into the lake below, and the family of monkeys with the ultra cute no-bigger-than-my-chubby-tummy baby monkeys were added enjoyment to the scenary. i aim to go Samosir island the next time i visit.

pity livejournal cant upload pics. just wait til i bother to upload into the photosite...

princess princess i love u

mood: siaotingtong

I am SO SO SO into Princess Hours i cant wait for 1pm to come so i cld get home and continue with the remaining 7 episodes!!!! come on come on time go time goooo.. shoo shoo!

the Crown Prince's is so koreany korean with his small eyes..  his princess is so cute with her homourous characters and antics.. tho i dare to say she'll be touted as ACT CUTE and boycotted if she's a Singaporean acting in a Singaporean show.. my.. how tolerant we are towards our foreign friends.. i'm starting to appreciate why my china colleagues adore Terence Cao...

don't bother rushing home at 7pm (obviously targetting at students only) to catch the one on channel u, just buy/borrow/steal/snatch the DVDs la! ( i have 2 on my wait list at the moment, contact me if you wish to be added on! ;))

suddenly i am so into Korean stuff. didnt realise until Ling pointed it out yesterday - i am crazy over samsoon, princess hours.. had the craving for ginseng chicken.. having the constant desire to go korea again.. and i just started my first korean language class last night!!! ling said no wonder his relatives all tot i'm either Korean, Jap or Chinese. i told ling i wanna be reincarnated as a korean in my next life.. :P

i'm having a self analysis on why i can be so infatuated. quite a long explanation... let me think on whether i can present it in a consise manner for this blog's purpose.. it's not easy even for myself to follow my messy thoughts.. ke.

**********************************************************************

Pumpkin's lil sis showed me a tickle me elmo video 2 nights back - so cute!!!!!!!!!! have you seen it? oh my it can actually bend down, roll on the floor and then stand up again while laughing ok! WOW!!! made me laugh almost to the same extent! i wanna own one too!!!!!!!

Our Best Wishes

Sep. 28th, 2006 | 09:36 am
mood: happy happy

Cousin K’s wedding over. I actually feel a sense of loss. Ha. It was so exciting the preparation and all, leading to the actual day last Sat. Prob coz it’s the first wedding for my generation in Ah Ma’s house. Prob coz it’s my first time being a Jie Mei too.

The wedding’s all so sweet I had to fight back my tears countless times – when the groom kissed the bride, when the bride hugged the mum, when the couple knelt to all elders at the tea ceremony, when the photo montage of their growing up and together years was shown, when the couple walked down the ballroom aisle. I’m quite a cry baby I think.

We had a lot of fun indeed with the games in the wee hours of the morning. It was a good battle between the Sisters and the Brothers. The victorious side is of course obvious.

I love especially the part we had the groom and brothers down the block to sing Aaron Kwok’s Cant Love You Enough ( a loose translation of the Chinese name) with the characteristic actions. We were later told families on the 23rd floor heard it too. We were at the 5th floor. I didn’t think they were that loud, though they could be perceptibly so at 6am in the morning. Woah.

Shant go into the details of all the games we played coz I’m thinking of recycling some at Mel’s wedding next month. 2nd time being a Jie Mei – I reserve my last time for Suami ok. The rest, wait til I get married. :p

I realized I seemed to be the most accommodating to Cousin K’s countless creative/ridiculous/troublesome/out of the world (note: choose your own definition) ideas, suggestions and requests. May have got something to do with my ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ mentality for almost any event (ok, self-selected events:P) on earth. I wanted it memorable for her. Wedding is INDEED once in a lifetime you know. Any regrets will really be regrettable. I know my girls will be so tolerant too, when I get married. ;)

I hope we all succeeded in giving Cousin K the best on Sat. Am so looking forward to her baby due 23 Sept 2007. ;)

balik kumpung

Sep. 20th, 2006 | 01:48 pm
mood: numb numb

and so i'm back. squeezing my brain juices on how my report gonna be like. damn. u know the kind of helpless feeling you get when u are all alone with all the right conditions only to find out they were perfected for that wrongful disaster. pretty exasperating.

anyway 'nuff bout that. i'm fine. i'm ok. i'm cool. :P

warm my butt for another 2 weeks and off i go again. Bundung's in the bag this time round and that's making me look forward to it. shopping haven again! ok prob not. tightening my belt a little bit more. hmm. whatever. i expect an ultra short trip limited to no more than 2 flights ( touch and go! ) and that's making it attractive! i hate plane rides. i really do. i thought 3 hours' my limit but i realised last night it had gone down to 40 min. i can only tahan a flight to KL i think. i suspect it may go down to JB soon.

i know boss gonna ask the same qn again tml and i'm preparing for it. here goes: oh it's not too bad, quite a good trip. though some unfortunate things happened like not getting the intended advertisement out and therefore not getting the students to come and therefore cancelling the 3 events altogether. (sheepish grin) Oh yeah, i know. i know the budget's been specially extended for these events expecting to boost the numbers. no worries, i'm still aware. i'll do better. (*wink with a cluck of the tongue* ...ok prob just a wink.) Oh but you know what? (putting on the widest smile i have) it's still a pretty good trip coz i was inspired and came up with some amazing new marketing ideas that i thought we could prob arrange a meeting soon to discuss and explore the implementations?

diversion tactic. you are one smart ass lady. woohoo!

though i REALLY did brainstormed some ideas onboard last night. while staring at the ultra black -40 degree celcius sky. it created some well-appreciated diversion away from the untolerable flight for a couple of minutes... and then it's smack back to my fidgety self. lucky the flight's half full and there's noone sitting beside me....

an ultra stressful week.. with the announcement and the repurcussions after that..my phone kept ringing with calls and smses from as early as 7+ am to as late as 12 am.. emails kept popping new ones with the same topic. i'm still lucky though, considering the fact i din suffer any snide remarks and aggressive attitude as my bosses did..

coupled with the dnd.. carnival preparations.. coupons sale.. bear sales.. all seemed to clash at the wrong time..

Got Heart?

Aug. 5th, 2006 | 01:03 pm

Buy a bear from me? $3 per piece. "Got Heart Bear", sure some of you would have seen it before, especially for the past few Fridays where my colleagues and i have been taking turns for tin collection and bear sales at different locations around the island.

It's for the Straits Times School Pocket Money fund - for needy children. Buy a bear from me? I'll deliver to you. ;)

Yours..Accidentally

Jul. 25th, 2006 | 09:54 pm

did you catch 'Singapore - The Accidental Nation' on Discovery recently? i was mesmerised.

Accidental: occuring unexpectedly, unintentionally or by chance.

Indeed. it makes you think of the numerous things in life that are so untentional. The best accidents that happened to me, are the relationships i've forged so unexpectedly

One Active and one Passive, i din imagine we'll hit it off. One ChaoAngmo and one ChaoChina, i din expect our paths to cross. One Wealthy and One Deprived, i nvr spotted the link. One Chubby and One Slim, there din seem to be similiarities. One Sporty and One Cultural, there aint no common interests. One Tall and One Short, there exists a clash of views. One Dark and One Fair, the best of bonds i nvr thought. One Logical and one Emotional, i din deam we'll be together.

i love accidents(restricted to those kind as above pls). Don't you?
